STILL MY PRIDE AND JOY

This was the very first quilt I ever made. It hangs in my dining room, and I still look at it and feel amazed that I made it.

ROPE THINGEY BASKET

Yet another class at my favourite quilt store. You sewed your fabric into tubes, and used this contraption to pull this cotton fluff rope through it, then you sewed it together into a bowl.

I really had fun making this, because you actually left with a finished object!

CHENILLED RUG

Yet another class I took on mat leave, which then sat uncompleted in a basket for two years. I took several day-long classes during mat leave, in which you would start a project, then finish it at home. The finishing was a problem, as the Boy was an incredibly demanding baby.

The mat was harder than I'd expected, and a lot more work, but I was very pleased with the finished result.

CROCHETED RUG

Another class I took while on mat leave, but this was a project I actually finished!

It was so much fun, and easy.

RAG QUILT

I could have done a much better job on this, but I enjoyed making it.

I'd like to make another one, sometime.

I took a class to make this while I was on mat leave. I got everything cut, and a bit of sewing. Then, it sat in a basket for about two years, until last fall, when I had a burst of energy.

MY FIRST, AND SO FAR ONLY COMPLETED ATTEMPT AT RUG HOOKING

This is a little beginner kit I picked up at a studio in Mahone Bay. I love rug hooking, but I think I may love the idea of it more than the actual work.

ANOTHER FUZZY PIC!

It's very hard to get a good shot without a flash, but it's even harder to get a good one of something under glass with a flash.

My first effort at cross stitch. One of the girls at work showed me how to do, and I was hooked.

A SAMPLER THAT STILL NEEDS TO BE FRAMED

I made this in about three months after the Boy was born, during the few times he wasn't screaming.

In fact, there's an amusing pic of me somewhere stitching this on the couch with the Boy nursing. I was pretty desperate to get some Mommy time in.

I really love this sampler. The thingeys around the border are all quilt patterns.

Ugh, blurry picture due to lack of flash, due to glass making a flash shot without a big white blob obscuring sampler impossible.

Anyhoo... the cross stitch birth sampler I made while I was pregnant with the Boy. When I didn't know if he was going to be the Boy or the Girl.

Everyone said I was nuts for putting his name in, but I just knew it was going to be a boy.

I did wait until he was born to put the date on it, however.
